I have about a million more bandslash fics to rec than any other fandom, so this is going to be a giant bandslash-only post. Sorry if that's not what interests you. I'll probably post again soon, with only other fandoms, because I should really get on that, too. Because there are so many in this post, they're separated by band. This is mostly older stuff, because that's what I'm up to in my list of things to rec. Just FYI. Also, mostly Panic, because I was mostly into them at the beginning, and my to-rec list is really, really, insanely backed-up. I've recced a lot of people multiple times... there were only so many good fic writers in this fandom, early on. Okay, shutting up and posting recs now.

| It's been a long time. |

For a while, I've been feeling like I should just give up on this journal. Not that many people read it, and my list of fic to rec is so long at this point that I'll never get to it all. Not to mention that I'm clearly bad at updating regularly.
However, I like reccing fic. I like sharing the things I like. And I don't really want to give up on this entirely. So, I'm going to try to do it more regularly, and there will be more bandslash-only posts, just because that's what I'm reading now and that's what I have the most of to rec. I'll still post recs from other fandoms, just not as much as I have been.
With that in mind, here are some recs I've posted at my personal LJ, but not here yet. They're slightly different than my usual reccing style here. I'm going to try to post at least once more this week, fic I haven't recced anywhere, but for now, I feel like any recs I make there should be here, too.

One fic per fandom in each post for a while - that way I can feel like I'm catching up at least a little without getting too overwhelmed, and you get (probably) lots more fic posts that should be more manageable and diverse. Sound good?

Note: I haven't decided whether or not to rec Supernatural or Queer as Folk (US) fic here, because everything I've read has been recced to me. Thoughts? Also, should Good Omens be a regular fandom or a miscellaneous one? There's not really THAT much fic out there, but it is an actual FANDOM to me, as opposed to something I'm familiar with that I'll read fic for if it looks good.
This wound up being kind of a gen-heavy edition. I hope you all like gen fic! I do, but I love pairing-centric fic as well, as you know by now. There'll probably be more of it in the next post. |

...because I've been reading lots of HP lately, so I want to rec that instead. This will be a giant post of recs, kind of like they've mostly all been, so far. This post is very Remus/Sirius-heavy, but there are other characters/pairings recced as well, so it's worth checking it out even if R/S isn't your cup of tea.

I cannot believe how long this has taken me.
Anyway, Firefly recs ahoy! I'm a latecomer to this fandom, so I'm probably missing some essential stuff, but hopefully the holes in my reading will get filled eventually.
Also, I've decided to always include the author's summary if there is one. Otherwise, the format is the same.
I am NOT warning for Serenity spoilers, as the movie came out almost a year ago already.

| Narnia fic. |

And every once in a while, I stumble upon a fic in a fandom I'm familiar with but don't really read or participate in at all, and I love it. This is such a fic.
Growing Up by sheldrake (gen, Susan & Lucy)
Susan grew up, and when she got there she discovered with surprise that that isn't the end of things. You grow up, and you breathe a sigh of relief. And then you realise that nothing stops. Life continues to happen around you, and it is relentless, and it won't let you rest for a moment, not even long enough for you to hold a hand against your face and feel the small creases next to your eyes and mouth, that never used to be there.
I read the first three Narnia books (not counting The Magician's Nephew) when I was a kid, and loved them. I don't remember enough about the others besides The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to get as much as I possibly could out of this fic, in all probability (especially the part about Caspian), but I felt well-acquainted enough with the characters to follow it. Beautiful characterizations of both characters, and the author made me sympathize with Susan, who I never really liked. Even if you don't care about Narnia or the characters, this is the perfect summation of what it's like to grow up in this world, and I can really relate to Lucy's struggles.
Read it! It's very good, I swear.

HP, Harry/Draco, post-HBP, novel-length, NC-17, AMAZING. Abide the Sleeper by ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) furiosity and imadra_blue - I have been reading this for the past three days, and I finally finished. I'm not a hardcore H/D shipper, so if you're not that into the pairing but don't have objections to it, I'd say you'll like the fic. This is EXACTLY how I want Book 7 to play out - and now I don't even want to read it when it comes out, because I KNOW I'll be disappointed. Oh man, this fic is SO GOOD!!! Even with the slash, it reads like canon or better. I cannot emphasize my love for it enough.
Excerpt:
"You sure know how to pick them, Harry," called Ron, his voice hysterical. "First a human hosepipe, then a D-D-Dark Lord in disguise,"—his voice caught, but he continued—"and now Malfoy."
Hermione's laughter rang out in the stale air, and Harry thought he felt the Dementors outside flinch.
Someone was laughing in Azkaban, and the war was over.
